The New York State Department of Transportation announced that from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7 and Thursday, Aug. 8, there will be single lane and shoulder closures on I-84 westbound between exit 17 (Ludingtonville Road) and exit 16 (Taconic State Parkway) in Kent and East Fishkill.
During the construction, motorists have been warned to expect delays and have been advised to seek alternate routes when possible.
“Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers,” the NYSDOT noted. “Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.”
